The Happy Hoofer's Panhandle Horses

Your local horse resource for northwest Florida and south Alabama

We are moving to Milton from Indiana next month and are trying to find someone in NW Florida who does a natural balance trim. We use a natural balance trimmer here and she has really helped a couple of our guys who had some problems - so we want to keep the type of trimming if possible.

Other than that we are moving with seven AQHA (3 are also PHBA) registered quarter horses and need lots of advice. We are putting together a farm in Milton.

I use Josh Axsom for both my QH & my gaited horse. My horses are not shod and he does a great job. Welcome to Florida. I live in Milton as well. You will love it!

Thanks Amanda. It looks as though there are lots of folks with horses around. It is great to find a horsey community!

What is the going farrier rate around Milton?

I pay $25 for a trim.

that's about average here unless one uses one of the trendy folks who might charge $75 - $100 if they do something that could be perceived as therapeutic.

thanks.

You can find a list of local farriers at www.happyhoofer.com. Look in the directory under farriers. There's also listings for hay suppliers, feed and tack, etc. Good luck with the move!

I saw the list, but anyone can put his or her name on a list and I'm pretty picky about who works on my horses.

Your Palomino is very flashy. Several of our hoses are “yellow.” It was the early influence of Roy Rogers that made me want a horse (especially a palomino) from the time I was a youngster.

Thanks! I just wish the move were over....

I agree. I would definately get references. My husband has a palamino QH that he absolutely loves!
